Jim DeMelo
Founder Jim brings over 20 years of experience writing & producing Described Video/Audio for Film & Television. He has worked with many organizations such as Rogers Television (City TV, Bravo, Showcase), CBC, Arts & Entertainment Network, The Discovery Channel, and their respective production and post-production partners (sim, Cineflix).
Previous to JDescribe, Jim worked for Accessible Media Inc. (AMI)—The Accessible Channel, a division of AMI, and its former inception AudioVision. In this role, he was mandated to manage Production and Creative for Descriptive Video (DV) Services.
Jim prides himself on providing uncompromising quality for both writing and narrating DV and believes in superior standards of excellence. JDescribe employs only experienced writers, narrators, and audio editors, delivering thorough and comprehensive descriptions to all of his projects. As a leader in the industry, Jim compiled the Description Guidelines Manual for the Accessible Channel (TAC), establishing a standard for description writing.
Other accomplishments include planning, directing, and producing Description for next - day broadcast of the 2010 Vancouver Paralympic Highlight Shows, and producing over 1000 Broadcast Hours of Description for Film and Television in a wide range of genres.
Jim holds an International Business Graduate Honors Diploma earned in Toronto Canada. He has also completed the Digital Video Editing program/course at the International Academy of Design (Toronto Film School) and is a graduate of the Describer Training Program instituted through The National Broadcast Reading Service. Jim also speaks Spanish and Portuguese fluently.

Melissa Ungar
As co-owner and voice artist for JDescribe, Melissa is thrilled to be working in such an incredibly unique and crucial area of narration. Her experience as a DV narrator includes hundreds of films, television shows, and promos in both adult and children's genres including animation. She is a commercial voice artist as well as an audiobook narrator and singer.
Melissa's passion for just about everything behind the microphone began at a very early age as she started microphone technique, theory, and piano as a child.
Her interests soon broadened towards singing and voice acting as she has completed several jingles and two CDs- ‘checkered past’ & ‘poppy.’

Melissa studied at York University and Ryerson, as well as The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.
In 2009, she won an award for her narration from the ‘IAAIS.’
